Leaving Cert CAO Points Calculator: An App for Irish Students
The Leaving Cert CAO Points Calculator, developed by CareersPortal, is a free Android application designed to help Irish students calculate their CAO points based on their subject results. This app is an essential tool for students who sit the Leaving Cert in 2017 and after. It is quick and easy to use, and allows you to input as many subjects as you want from Higher and Ordinary papers. The calculator will work out your top 6 scores, including LCVP grades and 25 bonus points for Maths.
However, it is worth noting that the app does not include Foundation level points as these may not be accepted by all colleges and the results may be misleading. In addition to this, the app provides a direct link to the CareersPortal CAO CourseFinder, where you can search for information on all current courses. You can also use this link to find the first-round points when they are published at 06:00 on results day, and then send your results to your friends and family using the built-in SMS/text feature.
